English

Like the videos to the right show, English is a tricky language, especially when it comes to its pronunciation.

If, like "The Italian Man to Went to Malta," you haven't mastered its vowels, you might get into some misunderstandings.

Even English speakers have trouble understanding other English speakers sometimes, like that English policeman in "Perfect Accent" or those two Scotsmen stuck in a voice-activated elevator set to understand only the American accent, find out.

And Professor Higgins famously rails against imperfect English accents in the famed musical "My Fair Lady" (Read the lyrics to the song in our blog).

This is just the tip of the iceberg of issues in English pronunciation. It never ends. But this is a good place to start.

Master English pronunciation, and its relatively easy grammar will follow!

The rest, all the expressions, idioms and sayings, takes a while (maybe even a lifetime) to learn.

Great American TV shows like Seinfeld, Friends and The Office, will give you a good head start. Look them up on YouTube and Netflix.
